Awards are tallied using the following activities and accomplishments point system. Scores will be collected around the end of May each year.

Students can access the form to apply for a letter electronically through a Google forms link that will be emailed by the Band Director.
The first letter awarded is a cloth letter . In subsequent years, a gold colored bar is awarded when a student meets the lettering criteria.
The following are the minimum criteria to apply for a band letter. To apply for a letter a band member must meet 4 out of the following 5 requirements. Once these minimum requirements are met the letter awards are made at the discretion of the band director.
Member in good standing of Marching Spartans (includes exemplary attendance at all marching band rehearsals and performances). Exemplary attendance is defined as not having any unexcused absences/tardies nor having more than two excused absences/tardies to all rehearsals and performances.
Audition for All-District Band.
Exemplary attendance at all non-marching band activities (includes rehearsals).
Achieve a rating of I or II in the District Solo and Ensemble Festival in grade IV or higher.
Participate fully on Tag Day.
For Color Guard members (who do not play an instrument in band) to apply, they must meet ALL of the following requirements. Once these minimum requirements are met the letter awards are made at the discretion of the band director.
Member in good standing of both the Fall and Winter Guards.
Exemplary attendance at all Band and Color Guard activities.
Participate fully on Tag Day.
The Clef, Lyre, Honor Lyre, and Aulos awards are given to those students who accumulate points during the school year based on the type and number of activities they participate in, the ratings they receive, their participation and their grade level. These awards are ribbon. The awards application form is used to calculate the point total.

These are musical medals that maybe collected to commemorate students accomplishments. These can be worn on letter jackets or collected in another ways. They identify special groups of students within the band. You must qualify for each medal you wish to purchase. Cost is $3.00 per medal.
